From Miami to West Palm Beach, restaurateurs are busy working on new ideas and opening future locations. Here is a list of burger and steak restaurants coming to South Florida communities in 2019.

America's Top 3 Hamburger Chains

There is little surprise when it comes to who is the best selling hamburger chain the U.S. The most recent sales figures show that in 2017, McDonald’s easily topped all contenders by a Big Mac-sized margin with $37.6 billion in sales. McDonald's was founded in 1940 in San Bernardino, CA by Richard and Maurice McDonald and as of 2019 has approximately 37,500 locations worldwide.

Burger King and Wendy's are in a virtual tie, with $9.6 billion in sales for BK and $9.3 billion for Wendy's in 2017. Burger King's journey to becoming a top 3 U.S. hamburger chain began in 1953 as Insta-Burger. A year later, David Edgerton and James McLamore purchased the struggling Insta-Burger and renamed it Burger King. There are now over 15,000 Burger King locations worldwide.

Wendy's was founded by the late Dave Thomas in 1969 in Columbus, Ohio, Wendy's is now headquartered in Dublin, Ohio and has approximately 6,600 locations worldwide as of 2019.
