How to Find Someone's Address For Free

Here I have listed the best free websites for finding someone's address in United States. To keep this post from getting cluttered I will avoid everthing that doesn't relate to finding someone's address. I bring this up only because most free people search websites offer other services. Maybe that will be the topic of future blog post.

When you begin your search keep in mind that the more you know about the person you are looking for the better your chances are for finding them. Age, middle initial, relative names, and previous towns they have resided -- these additional details are sometimes listed with the search query results.

If by chance you happen to completely strike out in your search for someone while using a free people search website, there is a good chance the person has had their information removed from the website. You can try other free people search sites with the possiblity they will be indexed there.

Whitepages.com

It's hard to top Whitepages.com. When you run a search, the results will also display the age, names of relatives, and previous towns. This can eliminate a mountain of additional research because you have been able to zero in on them.

Start by searching for someone by both the person's name and the name of a town where they have resided. The reason for this is you can quickly narrow down the search results if you add the town name as additional search criteria. On whitepages.com, results at the top referred to as "Premium Result" are available for a fee, however, they give you a glimpse at the premium result thus you can access some useable information.

Melissadata.com

Melissadata.com offers free lookup tools with different functionalities. The Personator Search https://www.melissa.com/v2/lookups/personatorsearch/ is a good resource for locating someone's address. Recently they have implemented a new policy where you are allowed to perform a certain amount of searches before having to register an account. I tested this site for a relative who moved to another town six months ago. Other sites returned information for his new addresss but would only allow full access per the "premium" paid access option. MelissaData has his new address listed free of charge, they also no longer have his previous address listed, which makes the updated listing details for him complete.

When using this search service you will not enter a town name as additional search criteria because this search does not show previous towns for someone in the search results. The only exception is if you are at least relatively certain of the town in which they currently reside you can narrow down the search results by including a town name.

The Full List

The following is a collection of free people search services that you can use to find people who have unclaimed HUD/FHA refunds.
Note: I did not include 411.com on the list only because this website is owned by the same company that owns whitepages.com. You could probably use either website with the same success. My research on both sites returns the same results.

Tip: If for example you are looking for John Smith, also search for Jonathan Smith. Sometimes search queries are very strict in the sense that they will not include both the full formal first name and the abbreviated form of the first name, only one or the other. Another example: search for both Mike Jones and Michael Jones.
