Update #1: Construction has begun on a new Dunkin' Donuts next generation restaurant in Lakeland, Florida at 2060 Hwy 540A. Melbourne Commercial Builders based in West Melbourne, Florida is the general contractor in charge of the project.

Original Article: Construction is expected to begin soon for a 1,703 square-foot Dunkin' Donuts next generation restaurant in Lakeland, Florida on County Road 540A. The DD project will be constructed on a parcel owned by Palmetto Lakeland-540A, LLC. in between Dollar General and McDonald's. See map below for the exact project location.

The next generation restaurants are unique in a number of ways. First, the brand name has been shortened to Dunkin'. Second, DD Perks Rewards members can avoid waiting in line by placing an On-the-Go Mobile Order by using the Dunkin’ Mobile App, or the navigation app, Waze, and now even with Google Assistant technology on Android or Apple devices. These orders can be picked up in a drive-through that is used exclusively for mobile ordering. Third, inside there will be digital kiosks that allow customers to place their own orders. Last but not least, a tap system serves eight consistently cold varieties of coffees and iced teas.
