A former Sunoco gas station was demolished to make way for this Checkers restaurant.

The Checkers restaurant chain was founded by Jim Mattei in 1986 in Mobile, Alabama. The fast-food giant widely praised for their uniquely delicious french fries, is headquarted in Tampa, Florida. The future Checkers in Orange City is owned by Orange City Burger LLC.
